Bottle collage

I was inspired by ideas with bottles from my friend Rhea at Sweetnshabbyroses to create these bottle collages. These are vintage bottles dug from the earth. If there is a cap it's rusted, and the show their age with mineral deposits.

I used vintage dictionary pages , as I love the color of them. Bits and scraps are added on and soon you have a story.

To the top of each bottle I added a tag and various baubles including some of my handmade plastic charms.

They can be found on ebay or etsy. From Feb. 1st thru the 3rd, with any etsy or ebay purchase, I'll include 2 free greeting cards or tags . My choice. Thanks!

Is it Spring yet?

It is bitter cold here and it is January. But I have been collaging with pretty pastels and spring rainbows and it really cheers me up. I'm exploring collage on a bigger canvas...well bigger than the ACEO/ATC! I love the sweet french laundry hangers I found to use as hangers, they really finish up a project. What are you working on?.....cause I know you're working on something! I hope your are trying something new and having fun like I am.

Altered Art

I love old photos, cards , bits and pieces. SO I have been having great fun with altered art, ACEO's and ATC's to be exact. ACEO's (art cards editions and originals) and ATC's (artist trading cards) are mini pieces of art measuring 3 1/2 ins. by 2/1/2 ins. Any art that you can fit on it is exceptable. Collage, painting, drawing, assemblege,....are all perfect for this format. I like adding eyelets and wire hangers to mine. Some people like to collect them like in plastic sleeves like baseball cards but I like mine hanging on my bulletin board. They usually come signed and dated on the back. Take a look at what ebay and etsy have to offer in this tiny art form. It's addicting.

Won't you be my Valentine?

A new holiday is upon us.... St.Valentine's day! Who would not be inspired by the colors of this holiday....pink, red, pink, white, did I say PINK! So many sweet images to use and papers to explore. And glitter. Can't forget glitter.

Remember when we decorated shoe boxes to collect our school valentines in? Some boxes were merely covered while others were wild extravaganzas of tissue and hearts and ribbons.! My girls are older so I'm not sure if they still do that. Probably gone the way of most holidays today! I hope not and I hope that someone lets you know how special you are this Valentine's Day or any day .

Fun Christmas gifts

These are some fun things my girls got for me. I used to collect lobster dishes ( see earlier post) and this is some lobster love for my dishes. He looks so cute hanging out in the hoosier cabinet with all the dishes.
Next is a journal. But first things first, you have to personalize it with some stitches. I but my initals and doo dads on it. My daughter says this is too replace all the scraps of paper by my computer that I scribble and take notes on. I say it is too pretty for note taking and yet I don't journal so where should I use it.? I'll look at it awhile and come up with the write...get it...write...use.

Merry Christmas

Wow, I'm sure you are all busy today, Christmas Eve, just as I am. But, I wanted to stop and take a moment to wish you all a Merry and Blessed Christmas. I have truly enjoyed meeting so many new friends and I hope we will continue to cherish each other for many years to come. May the Peace of our Lord be with you today and everyday.
