Dahlia season

It's dahlia season and that is a big time for our household. Dahlias are my DH's hobby/obsession.
We have over 80 plants in our front yard as our backyard doesn't get any sun. These are 2 of the smaller variety. The come as big as a dinner plate. During August and September he will be
entering them in fairs and competitions. Sometimes I think they get more attention than I do! LOL.

so glad to see a post here:) i was wondering where you have been!!! i want to see more Dahlias too...i really love those, but never plant any because you have to dig them back up in the fall...i like my flowers to be more easy peasy!!! they are gorgeous though and the size of some of the blooms truly astounds!!!

Karen,
I don't think I told you that I grew up with a DAD who was heavily into Dahlia's. He still dabbles but not like I remember. And I do remember them being bigger than plates, but so pretty. Will he let you fill your home with blooms? If so...I want to see pictures! I am sure they are just gorgeous.

Hugs..for not being taken care of tho..I used to be a golf widow!

Blessings..Lorena
