Pink Saturday

Welcome to another Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly.
Please visit her blog to view the complete list of participants for this week.

When I started going to flea markets years and years ago, my little girls would come too. I tried to get them interested in something other than the drinks and snowcones. My littlest, decided that she liked pretty pins.
So, to keep her coming with me, I would give her quarters to buy a pin or two. You would be surprised how many times that little face and outstretched hand with quarters brought the price down! Of course that never happened when I tried it.
Now she is away at design school and her pin collection is here with me.  She never collected any particular color or design just what tickled a small girl's fancy.

These are the ones with pink stones. Pink is not , nor ever has been her favorite color so there are only a few of them.
Happy Saturday!

When I was in Vermont last week, I happened upon a craft shop that had a mirror, framed, but the frame was encrusted with vintage pins. It was gorgeous. Your photo of the pins reminded me of this...oh, and it was very expensive! Happy pink day.

Happy Pink Saturday. Love this post. The pins are so beautiful. I can just visualize the little outstretched hand with quarters in hand to purchase a pin or two. You should have had her buying yours too. Think of how many you could have now, that you so love? Anyone have a little hand they would loan out? Ha! Ha! Moma took all the jewelry from my Grandma's and took all the pieces and pinned them to a styrofoam tree form (which was glued to a base) and she put a string of lights on the tree, and she made a Christmas tree that she brings out each year. She absolutely loves it. It makes her think of Grandma. Thanks for the wonderful post. Country Hugs, Sherry

So sorry that I am getting to you a day late and a dollar short for Pink Saturday. Seems like the day just got away from me.

The sun was out in the afternoon and all day today, so with all the rain we've had, I went outside to play.

As always, it is a pleasure to come here to see what you are sharing and what you've been up to during the week. Thanks so much for making my weekend all ♥Pink and Pretty♥

We live closer to the Lake Erie beach....and yes, lots of my out of state friends laugh when I say we go to the beach, but HEY! our beach is nice and we don't need the ocean- do we?!

Hi Karen, I adore this post and the gorgeous vintage jewels. I have many pieces that were my mothers and I should share them sometime too. But what a grand idea for your littles ones at the time. The pinks are beautiful.
Thank you for sharing.
Hope you are doing well and had a great summer. Looking forward to Fall here and cooler days.
Have a nice week.

Lovely. I especially like the crown one; I have a gold one with clear rhinestones. Brooches are my favorite pieces of jewelry.

what I wouldn't give for a little girl like that! I can't find little jewels for the flower brooches I make, to save my life. I guess 50 years is way too old to flash a smile and get good deals. I just use fake jewels. Oh well, maybe I can get my granddaughter to smile for me if I ever stumble across some.Tell your daughter good luck on her endeavors.

Love, love, love the pins/brooches! My mother always wore them and I find myself addicted, too ;) I just bought a little set off ebay of Brown-eyed Susans - earrings and pin. Straight from the 60s.
Your daughter's pins are beautiful.
