Pink Saturday

This is my first time joining Pink Saturdays. I would like to thank Beverly for including me. Please stop here
to visit her and everyone else participating. I used the tutorial from this designer's blog
to make this little girl's tote for my niece. I really enjoyed learning how to search for and felt thrift store wool sweaters to make this. I really was hoping to find a soft pink but after going to 3 stores I realized I was lucky to find any pink at all that day. I'll have to keep looking. So I used what I found to make this for her First Communion next month. I will add inside a prayer book and a Miraculous medal for her to take to church.

This lamp has been in my family a long time. It used to be in my Grandmother's house, then my mother's house before being passed to me. It is gorgeous, not a chip to it. I wonder who hand painted it so many years ago.
Here is a detail of the delicious painting. Such beauty in a few strokes.
Thanks for visiting and I will be around to visit you all soon. Save a glass of iced tea for me.

Oooh, I LOVE that sweet little purse and I know that she will too :) It really turned out cute. I didn't quite get it when you were describing it, but I do now and it is SWEET !!! I Love that pretty lamp too, I have noticed how a lot of the older pieces had just a few strokes on them. Why do we try so hard ? lol !! Sheesh, I could eliminate about 50, lol !! Cept mine wouldn't turn out that nice :) Happy Pink Saturday !!! I am going back to bed :)

Hello Karen, Welcome to Pink Saturday! What a beautiful little purse you made here. I just love the idea of using old sweaters to felt. I saw it on Martha Stewart and have been wanting to try it. I did find some sweaters, now I just need to get to work. I love that pretty lamp also. That is a real treasure!
Bless you, Shirl

That lamp is just so beautiful. I've seen lots of lamp like that but never one so delicately painted. I loved the sweet purse you made and I love that you are going to put a wonderful surprise in it.

That's a sweet tote. I love the lamp - it does look handpainted. I wonder if it was someone in your family who painted it? Are our family stories fascinating?

Have a great Pink Saturday and a wonderful weekend.
