Sentimental journey

When I was growing up , we had the lobster dish. It was a wedding present to my parents in 1953. It was a relish dish that came out at holidays. It matched nothing and still we used it. When my mother passed away , the 5 kids divided things, but no one wanted the lobster dish. "I can't let it go to goodwill " I said. So , I took it , even though it didn't match anything and still we used it. Then, I found ebay and other people's lobsters that they could part with . And now I own an undersea herd . And they match...at least each other... and we use them. They are by Brad Keeler and are a California pottery. I know nothing about California pottery except these lobsters can get pricey. I have stopped buying them and probably should have stopped way before this, I know that's what you are saying! What do you collect, not because it matches your decor , but because it matches your heart. Afterall, I'm a pink girl! But the red lobsters match.

WOW, beautiful colors. I've never seen a "lobster dish". It's so neat that you kept your Mom's, then found more and more to add to the collection!

I, too, have been "forced" to collect items that "go" with my grandmother's Halls dishes. I guess I love them because she did, so I can completely understand you and your lobster dishes. LOL

Karen I love the Lobster story. You say your a pink girl and the lobsters are red, just remember red is just a darker shade of pink.
